Monnapule Saleng to Stay at Orbit College Despite Orlando Pirates Rumours

Despite circulating reports linking Monnapule Saleng with an early return to Orlando Pirates, sources have confirmed that the winger is set to remain at Orbit College for the foreseeable future.
The 27-year-old was loaned to the newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side at the start of the season. The Buccaneers confirmed that the deal was intended as a season-long arrangement. Recent speculation suggested the possibility of cutting the loan short, allowing Saleng to rejoin Pirates, but insiders say that is not currently planned.
According to sources, Saleng is expected to stay at Orbit College at least until the end of the first half of the season. “There’s been a lot of noise about Saleng returning to Pirates, but as things stand, he will remain at Orbit. The loan was always meant to be a season-long deal, and the focus is for him to get regular game-time there,” a source close to the situation told the Siya crew.
Saleng’s future has drawn significant attention due to his past contributions at Pirates, particularly his standout 2022/23 campaign. However, limited game-time last season prompted the loan move, as the Buccaneers adjusted their attacking options.
Orbit College, navigating their first season in the top flight, are expected to benefit from Saleng’s pace and experience. The winger’s presence should help the team stabilise in the Betway Premiership and strengthen their bid to compete at the highest level this season.
