Motaung saddened by passing of ‘Bizzah’.
Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung has expressed sadness at the passing of Amakhosi legend Michael Bhabha ‘Bizzah’ Dlamini.
Bizzah reportedly failed to recover from a stroke after recently undergoing pancreatic surgery.
The 74-year-old, who led the line for Chiefs from 1970-76, also coached at Durban-based outfits Bush Bucks and AmaZulu, before briefly returning to the Glamour Boys to assist Paul Dolezar (1997-1999).
“Bizzah contributed tremendously to the club’s success in the 70s, thanks to scoring so many goals,” Motaung told his club’s website. “We were also friends. He was a person with a very positive outlook on life and a smile almost never leaving his face.
“I am devastated by his passing. We knew that Bizzah was operated on and that his health was not good in recent times. That is why we kept close contact with his family in order to provide strength and support. We will miss him dearly. It’s always sad when a member of the Kaizer Chiefs family passes away. I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Bizzah during this time of mourning.”
Motaung continued: “Bizzah scored many crucial goals for us, helping us to win numerous trophies in the years after the club’s foundation early 1970. He was a very clever player. We not only had a great understanding on the field, but also off the field.”
