Gregory Damons gave Swallows the lead in the first seven minutes of the match. Striker Christian Saile Basomboli equalized for Chiefs on the 23rd minute.

Left back Bongani Sam scored the winning goal in the first half of the match.

“Second half I wasn’t happy with some of the things.” Nyatama told SuperSport TV.

“We could not press, especially on the side. [Njabulo] Ngcobo and [Sifiso] Hlanti, we could not press them.

“I must say, it was a game of two halves, but also happy with the three points for the boys. You know, the boys showed character today and they stuck to the plan.

“We were saying, ‘let’s deny them the space behind us,’ and you could see how we were moving. We kept the shape very well with Kwanda [Mngonyama] and Keagan [Allan], unfortunately Keagan had to come out in the last minute.

“But hopefully he is fine.

“I’m not sure about his situation, but I saw him walking to the changing room. I just hope he is fine.

“I will just go check him out. But great performance from him and Kwanda. Very good pair.

“With Nico [Nicholas Lukhubeni] there on the right, kept [Ashley] Du Preez at bay. Even [Bongani] Sam, him also getting a goal. He kept the possession.

“We said it that from the left we must be conservative a bit and play from the right, and you could see how we scored our first goal. We got it from the right-hand side where we wanted that space behind Hlanti.” He spoke.
