Orlando Pirates Confirm Katlego Otladisa Departure

Orlando Pirates have officially announced the departure of winger Katlego Otladisa. The 28-year-old returned to the Soweto giants after a loan spell at Sekhukhune United but has now left the club permanently.

The Buccaneers confirmed the news on Friday, thanking Otladisa for his contributions. “The Club wishes you the very best in your next chapter. Once. Always,” the official statement read.

Otladisa’s exit is not unexpected. He has not featured or been included in matchday squads for Pirates this season. His struggle to secure a regular starting spot began after joining the club in July 2023, with Monnapule Saleng and Relebohile Mofokeng emerging as first-choice options on the flanks.

The winger spent the last six months of the previous season on loan at Sekhukhune United, but the loan stint produced limited impact. With consistent opportunities lacking at Pirates, his exit became a logical step.

Otladisa’s departure marks the tenth exit from Pirates this season. Other departures include Zakhele Lepasa, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, Miguel Timm, Innocent Maela, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Siphelo Baloni, Azola Tshobeni, and Mohau Nkota.

For Pirates, the exit of Otladisa reflects ongoing squad reshaping as the club seeks to balance experience with emerging talent. For the winger, it opens a new chapter and the chance for more regular playing time elsewhere.
