Nkanyiso Zungu Reflects On Struggles He Encountered While At Pirates
Orlando Pirates on-loan midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu has opened up on life issues he faced while he was playing for Bucs. Zungu introduced as a new signing on for Richards Bay FC after as he’s seeking more game time
ZUNGU ENDED UP HAVING DEPRESSION
The 26-year-old midfielder featured in one match for Buccaneers in all competitions previous season and has admitted that he suffered from depression.
“Sometimes things happen, you get a lot of frustration and end up having depression, which makes you do things and I don’t want to talk about it, for now, it is personal but now I’m okay and want to play football,” Zungu told the media.

“Besides not playing football, there were a lot of things that were happening in my life personally which caused the depression but I don’t want to talk about it. “
“What I’ve learned at Orlando Pirates, as a player you have to work hard, be disciplined, always understand your role, always be professional, respect yourself and others around you, always playing for the badge, not for yourself.”
ZUNGU HAPPY TO JOIN RICHARDS BAY
Zungu started his career at AmaZulu when he was still young before he joined Stellenbosch where he impressed the Sea Robbers who then snatched him.
“Coming back home makes me happy, I’ve been away for a while and I’m here to restart, showcase my talent, so I’m so happy to be back home, play football which is something I love,” Zungu told the media.
“This is the place where it all started, I went to AmaZulu, Stellenbosch and Orlando Pirates to gain more experience but as much as I learnt a lot, I’m here to restart and behave like someone that doesn’t know anything at all.”

“I feel like it was time for me to move to Orlando Pirates, it was God’s plan and I don’t regret it, as a player you have to be strong, not playing so many games there doesn’t mean I wasn’t loved.
“For me, I want to make sure I contribute to the success of the team, I want to play football and regain my confidence, I want to play in the national team.”
