Orlando Pirates Confident Relebohile Mofokeng Will Return Soon After Missing Training

Orlando Pirates are optimistic that promising youngster Relebohile Mofokeng will not be sidelined for long after missing Friday’s training session at Orlando Stadium.

The 20-year-old attacker, who played a key role in Pirates’ 1-0 win over Siwelele FC earlier in the week, was absent as the squad completed final preparations for Saturday’s CAF Champions League clash against Lesotho’s Lioli FC.

Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou provided a brief update on Mofokeng’s status, saying, “I have to speak with my medical department to see what is going on. Rele is an important player for us, but we have to speak to the medical team. I can’t tell you more about him.”

Mofokeng did not feature in the 4-0 win over Lioli, a result that completed a 7-0 aggregate triumph for the Buccaneers. A source close to the club has, however, reassured that the player’s absence is not due to a major injury and that he is expected to return soon.

Orlando Pirates will face TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday, and it remains uncertain whether Mofokeng will be cleared to play. The club is hopeful that the young attacker will rejoin the squad quickly, adding further firepower to their lineup.
