Orlando Pirates Suspend Ben Motshwari After Being Charged by The Police! The Buccaneers midfielder was arrested in the early hours of this morning.

Ben Motshwari has been suspended by Orlando Pirates. This is after he was arrested and charged by the police in the early hours of Monday morning.

The details around his arrest and charge have not been made public yet. However, it is highly rumoured that he was caught drinking and driving.

Thus, the club has taken swift action against the player.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has suspended midfielder Ben Motshwari after being charged by police this morning.” The club announced in a statement.

“Mr Motshwari will remain suspended, pending an investigation.

“The matter is subject to a legal process and the Club is therefore unable to make further comment until that process is complete.” The statement read.

Motshwari played for Orlando Pirates in Saturday afternoon as they beat Chippa United 3-1 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

He came on as a substitute in the last 10 minutes of the match.

Orlando Pirates then headed back to Gauteng immediately after the DSTV Premiership game. This means that Motshwari went out to the Johannesburg night life almost immediately after returning home.
