Outrage As Yaya Toure Does Not Receive a Statue for Manchester City! This came as the club announced that legend Sergio Aguero will leave at the end of the season.

The Argentine striker will follow the steps of Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany and David Silva who have all left the club. Including Aguero, the 4 are the backbone of the Manchester City of the modern era.

Club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak announced that the club will build statues for Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

“Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated.” He told the club website.

“His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football.

“This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve in the remainder of the time we have with Sergio, and we look forward to his contributions to the challenges which lay ahead.

“In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be commissioning an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium alongside the ones under construction for Vincent and David. And we look forward to the opportunity to bid Sergio a fitting farewell at the end of the season.”

Yaya Toure scored 82 goals in 316 appearances for Manchester City. He helped the side win their first ever Premier League title in 2011.

He has a total of 7 major honours with the club. This includes 3 Premier League titles.

Yaya Toure is widely considered one of the club’s greatest ever players, so the omission of his stature has angered supporters.
