Owen Da Gama Left Very Proud Of His TS Galaxy Players!
Owen Da Gama Left Very Proud Of His TS Galaxy Players! The Rockets lost 1-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns in the DSTV Premiership yesterday.
TS Galaxy conceded a first half goal to Peter Shalulile. They had the opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot.
However, influential midfielder Lindokuhle Mbatha saw his effort denied by Dennis Onyango.
“They’ve got 33 very good players,” the Da Gama told SuperSport TV.
“We had a lot of injuries and some suspensions. I’m very proud of the boys.
“I would like to see the ball possession in the game. I thought we kept the ball on the ground.
“The guys played fantastic football. We missed a penalty.
“I think that could have changed the complexion of the game. We pushed hard, we gave it our all.
“From a tactical perspective I was very happy the way we planned. There was little space for Shalulile and Motupa.
“We made sure Maboe was not as effective as he normally is. I’m very proud of the boys, their workmanship.
“I believe that there’s a lot we can learn from this game. They really made me feel like a good coach today.
“Very difficult to get momentum going or to organise a friendly. The NFD clubs are playing midweek and weekends.
“A lot of the PSL teams are overstretched. And I think that’s one challenge that we have.
“From a recovery perspective it may be good, for players coming back from injury it might be good. But from a continuity perspective it sometimes just breaks that momentum.” Da Gama concluded.
TS Galaxy face Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Lamontville Golden Arrows and Stellenbosch FC in their final 4 matches. They will be striving to finish in the top 8 this season.
