AmaZulu FC defeated Cape Town City 3-2 in their last DSTV Premiership encounter. Despite victory, head coach Pablo Franco Martin still expects more from his team.
The Spaniard admitted that the visitors, Cape Town City, deserved more from the match. This is because they were the far superior side in the encounter.
“We’re very far from the level I want, they were better than us, this is the reality,” Martin told the media.
“I’m honest, I think today they deserved more,” Franco Martin told the press.
“And with this, I don’t mean that our players didn’t deserve to win because they fought in the end and took their chances. But I think they are a better team than us right now.
“They are working with two gears in the same idea and you can’t see the difference. They also have good players with quality on the field.
“When you are on the field next to them you feel it and we suffered a lot.
“But football is about that, to know how to suffer, to know how to overcome difficulties. But we’re still at the beginning of the process.
“We’re very, very far from the level I want for the team.
“But it’s much better to say this, now we’re in a better position. As a coach I’m demanding, also in my personal life, I think if you don’t push yourself, then there’s no way to improve.” He spoke.
