Percy Tau Is Set For Brighton & Hove Albion Return In January! The Bafana Bafana star left for Brighton in 2018. He has yet to play a single game for Brighton & Hove Albion since his transfer from Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Athletic have reported that Brighton & Hove have are set to recall Percy Tau from his loan deal in January.
Tau, 26, joined the Jupiler Pro League giants on a season-long loan deal in August after once again failing to secure a work permit to play in England, and has scored twice in seven appearances for Vincent Kompany’s side thus far.
However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star’s time in Belgium, which has seen him spend the last two seasons with Club Brugge and Union Saint-Gilloise, respectively, could come to an end in January after it emerged that Brighton have made provisions for his return.
The Athletic report that The Seagulls inserted a recall clause into Tau’s loan deal at Anderlecht in the hope that Brexit-enforced amendments to the work permit regulations could allow him to finally play in the Premier League following the turn of the year
The 2017/18 PSL Footballer of the Year has not played a match for Brighton since his £2.7 million (R58 million) from Masandawana in 2018 due to the visa restrictions, but there is said to be growing sense optimism at the Amex Stadium that the position will change in the coming months.
