Kermit Erasmus is one of the many ambassadors of Grootman Restaurant, the offering by Lucky Lekgwathi. He was a chef for the day recently, preparing some of their more popular meals.
Romeo has been cooking on and off the field lately, as he joined the Grootman staff for a day. He serves as an ambassador for the place alongside the likes of Happy Jele, Linda Mntambo, Oupa Manyisa, Brighton Mhlongo and many more.
In fact, all these footballers, past and present have handcrafted sauces dedicated after them. Kermit Erasmus has been designated with their Creamy Mustard Sauce.
After quite a turbulent few years, Grootman has found its feet and seems to be surging forward. They were victims of looting in July 2021, when their store in Kliptown was absolutely vandalised.
Lekgwathi had to rebuild the store and relocate it to Southdale, where he faced another unsavoury incident. Staff members were robbed at gunpoint, last year.
“I was at home and had to rush to the shop,” Lekgwathi disclosed on his Instagram page.
“Then I called the police. I was scared because these thugs beat the workers up and I do not understand why they would do such a thing.
“My main concern was the safety of the workers. I have put up videos and pictures of them on social media, and I am confident they will be arrested.
“We must all work together to stop crime. I want to appeal to the community to help us to identify these people.
“If people can recognise them, please go to Booysens police station or come to our shop.” He concluded.
