Pitso Dladla Thrilled to Get Maximum Points Against Royal AM! The Natal Rich Boyz got the better of local rivals Thwihli Thwahla.

Richards Bay FC beat Royal AM 1-0 in the DSTV Premiership last night. Co-coach Pitso Dladla was full of praise for his team after the win.

Luvuyo Memela scored the only goal of the match to seal an unlikely away win for the visitors. It was a game which could have easily seen them score more goals.

Dladla was happy for his team.

“Congratulations to the boys,” Dladla told SuperSport TV.  

“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game. It was a game where we were willing to cover more of a distance.

“We knew that they are a very technically gifted team. They can pass, they can play the ball around.

“And they are a team who have got a ‘never say die’ spirit. They even score goals during injury time.

“So, we were cautious of that. So, really, we should give credit to the players.

“We played one game where we put together more than 600 passes, against SuperSport United, you can go check those stats, but we did not create enough chances. So, we spoke to the boys, sometimes possession without progression is not going to help us, especially during this phase of the league.

“Because this phase of the league is time for us to grind results, to get more points. Because we are aware that as the season progresses, its still going to be tough.

“So, yes for us we were more concerned about creating those chances. You can be my witness, it the first half we should have scored at least three goals.

“But we’re also happy with one goal, because what matters most right now is to get maximum points.” he spoke

The Natal Rich Boyz go top of the table after their win.

Like I said, for us its about points. The position really doesn’t matter that much. But it will give us the confidence that we want,” he added.
