Players Who Have Collapsed On the Football Pitch Before! Christian Eriksen fell on the football pitch in a Euro 2020 game on Saturday.
The Danish midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of the game. The immediate assistance of his teammate and captain Simon Kjaer saved his life.
Medical assistance arrived shortly after and was able to resuscitate Eriksen. In the aftermath of it all, doctors confirm that Eriksen had indeed died and was brought back to life through the efforts of Kjaer and the medics.

Fabric Muamba – 2012
He was playing for club side Bolton Wanderers against Spurs in the FA Cup. Muamba was dead for 78 minutes before being successfully resuscitated.
Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest. He was forced to retire at the age of 24.
Marc-Vivien Foe – 2003
Foe was representing Cameroon at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup against France. He collapsed as his heart failed.
Doctors tried and weren’t successful in restarting his heart. He was pronounced dead, at the age of 28.
Bafetembi Gomis
French striker Gomis suffers from a condition which makes him faint regularly. He has fallen while playing for Swansea City, Galatasaray and Al-Hilal.
Cheick Tiote
The former Ivory Coast international fainted in a training session. He was playing in China for Beijing Enterprises.
Tiote was pronounced dead upon arrival in hospital. He was 30 years old.
Antonio Puerta – 2007
The Spanish midfielder fell on the ground at the very beginning of the 2007-2008 La Liga season for Sevilla against Getafe. He was able to walk off the pitch despite initially falling.
Puerta collapsed again in the dressing room. He passed on three days later in hospital after multiple organ failures.
Puerta was 22 years old.
