Premier Soccer League Confirms Clubs for 2025/26 Nedbank Cup
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially confirmed the 32 clubs that will compete in the 2025/26 Nedbank Cup. The tournament promises excitement as teams from the Premier Division, National First Division, and SAFA leagues prepare for knockout football. The Round of 32 draw is set for Thursday evening and will be broadcast live on the SuperSport PSL channel (202).
The draw will follow a straightforward procedure. All club names will be placed in a single pot, with no seeding applied. The first ball drawn in each sequence will designate the home team, while the second will be the away side. This process will continue until all fixtures are determined, ensuring a fair and random selection for the opening round.
PREMIER DIVISION TEAMS
The top flight will be represented by 16 clubs. AmaZulu FC, Chippa United, Durban City, Kaizer Chiefs, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Magesi FC, Mamelodi Sundowns, Marumo Gallants, Orbit College FC, Orlando Pirates, Polokwane City, Richards Bay FC, Sekhukhune United, Siwelele FC, Stellenbosch FC, and TS Galaxy FC will all feature. These teams bring a mix of experience, talent, and fan support to the competition.
NATIONAL FIRST DIVISION TEAMS
Eight teams from the National First Division will also participate. Casric Stars, Gomora United FC, Highbury FC, Hungry Lions FC, Lerumo Lions, Milford FC, University of Pretoria, and Upington City FC represent the second tier and will be looking to challenge higher-ranked sides in the early rounds.
SAFA DIVISION TEAMS
The lower leagues will contribute eight teams to complete the field. FC Cardinals (Free State), SSU M17 FC (Gauteng), Mkhambathi FC (KZN), Tshakhuma Tsha Mazivhandila (Limpopo), Luthuli Brigades FC (Mpumalanga), Jacksa Spears (Northern Cape), Army Rockets FC (North-West), and one team from the Western Cape yet to be confirmed will compete. These sides offer the chance for giant-killing performances and added excitement.
