Mamelodi Sundowns drew 0-0 against Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League over the past weekend. Head coach Rulani Mokwena believes that they are under less pressure to win the trophy.

Coming away from Morocco with a draw was incredible for Masandawana, having seen two of their players get red cards in the encounter. They will hope home support will see them through this weekend.

Wydad are the reigning champions of the CAF Champions League and are hoping to win it for the second successive season. This is why Mokwena claims they have less pressure in the encounter.

“It’s the Champions league against the defending champions.” Mokwena told the media.

“We still have to play another 90 minutes [in Pretoria]. I am just very proud of the players for a gallant performance.

“Incredible discipline, incredible tactical flexibility and adaptation in very difficult circumstances.

“There’s a lot of clubs that have won the Champions League more than us. There’s a lot of clubs that have more pressure than us to win the Champions League every single year because they’ve done it more.

“Wydad are the defending Champions, and we just have to keep doing the best that we can. We have to fight, play well and give the best that we can to this football club and enjoy the opportunity because we know that it doesn’t come to everybody.”
