Pyramids FC Unwilling to Sell as Fiston Mayele’s Future Hangs in the Balance

Egyptian heavyweights Pyramids FC have reportedly drawn a firm line in the sand as speculation intensifies around the future of key striker Fiston Mayele. Amid growing interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, the reigning CAF Champions League winners are said to be reluctant to entertain any further offers for their players.
Mayele has emerged as one of the most sought-after forwards in African football, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh leading the race for his signature. The 31-year-old Democratic Republic of Congo international is believed to have expressed a desire to leave the Cairo-based outfit during the off-season, with reports valuing him at approximately $4 million (R71 million).
Despite this, Mayele has returned to pre-season training with Pyramids FC, casting uncertainty over whether a transfer will materialize. While his departure remains a possibility, insiders say the club is keen to hold on to its top talents ahead of a crucial season both domestically and continentally.
According to Korabia, the Sky Blues have made it clear they will not be selling any of their key players in the current transfer window. This stance became even more evident when Egyptian Premier League rivals Zamalek made an inquiry about winger Mostafa Fathi. Pyramids management reportedly gave a firm “not for sale” response, underlining the club’s commitment to stability and title ambitions.
The club’s cautious approach comes after losing star forward Ibrahim Adel to UAE side Al Jazira earlier in the window. With one major attacking asset already gone, the management is determined not to suffer further losses—especially with the looming uncertainty surrounding Mayele.
While reports suggest Pyramids may already be searching for a replacement for Mayele, the club is not rushing to make any decisions. For now, the focus appears to be on building a team capable of defending their CAF Champions League crown and challenging for domestic dominance.
As transfer rumours continue to swirl, all eyes will remain on Pyramids FC and whether they can resist the lucrative offers coming in for their prized assets. One thing is certain: the club is prioritizing squad continuity as they gear up for another high-stakes campaign.
