Manchester United and West Ham recorded their first wins of the season as well. At the bottom of the table Sheffield United and Burnley lost yet again. Neither team has picked up any points this season.

The first place to start this weekend’s Premier League recap is at the Etihad Stadium. Leicester City recorded an astonishing 5-2 victory away to Manchester City. The 5 goals conceded are the mosts amount of goals Pep Guardiola has ever conceded in any game for any team. The victory means that Brendan Rodgers’ men sit jovially at the summit of the table. Jamie Vardy scored his second hattrick of the season.

Manchester United needed 100 minutes of football and VAR assistance to defeat Brighton & Hove Albion. A very lackadaisical United were fortunate to escape with anything from the AMEX as Brighton struck the woodwork 5 times. A late Bruno Fernandes penalty gave the Red Devils a 3-2 win. This is Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s first win of the season.

On Saturday Chelsea came back from 3 goals down to rescue a 3-3 draw. Debutant and veteran defender Thiago Silva had a scathing introduction into the Premier League. Silva uncharacteristically lost possession of the ball and offered West Bromwich Albion to score their second goal of the game. West Brom was 3-0 up at halftime. Second half goals from Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham salvaged a point for Lampard’s men.

At White Hart Lane, Mourinho and Tottenham conceded a late penalty to draw 1-1 at home to Newcastle United. Lucas Moura gave Spurs the lead. This was before a contentious penalty saw Callum Wilson score from 12 yards out to earn Newcastle a draw.

In other games Everton, Leeds United and Southampton all won their games. West Ham United also beat Wolves by a stunning 4-0 scoreline.
