Robinho Sentenced to Nine Years in Jail After Rape Trial! The Brazilian will begin to serve a lengthy nine-year prison sentence.

The former Manchester City forward has been found guilty of rape by an Italian court. He will serve his sentence alongside five other men.

The forward was charged in 2017 but then appealed the decision. The appeal fell of deaf ears and the sentence will now begin.

It is also said that there is no more room for appeals and the prison sentence will begin immediately.

While still representing Italian side AC Milan in 2013, Robinho and five other men were said to have provided a 22-year-old woman with excessive amounts of alcohol at a Milan based nightclub, Sio Café nightclub.

Afterwards, the men were judged to have taken the woman to a hotel room where they gang raped the woman.

In addition to the prison sentence, Robinho and one other man, Ricardo Falco, have been ruled to pay over R1 million in remuneration to the lady in question.

Due to Brazilian laws, the duo is likely to serve their sentences in a Brazilian cell.

“Due to this situation, Italy will be able to request that both men serve their sentences in a Brazilian jail.” The Mirror reports.

“Italy must now request the transfer of execution of the sentence to the Brazilian justice system and wait for the Superior Court of Justice to ratify the sentence.

“Four other Brazilians were denounced for having participated in the act, but as they had already left Italy in the course of the investigations, they were not notified of the conclusion of the investigations and therefore were not prosecuted – their cases have been suspended but may be reopened.”
