Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Keagan Buchanan and Lehlohonolo Majoro were reported to have been released by AmaZulu FC. Head coach Romain Folz shed some insight into the debacle.
The French Moroccan confirmed that Mphahlele and Buchanan had already left the club. Majoro on the other hand is still on their books, with his contract coming to an end at the end of the season.
“We took the decision to let them go elsewhere because I believe that it’s best for the team and best for the club,” Folz told the media yesterday.
“I always do what’s best for the team, that’s my only priority. We have a clear vision on where we want to go.
“It’s a process, things don’t just happen, so you have to make decisions. Every decision that we take is for the benefit of the team and looking to improve what we have.
“Every decision that we take is to get positive results and outcomes.” He added.
The Usuthu head coach also confirmed that Majoro would indeed see out his contract until June.
“It was never the intention of the club at any point to get rid of Majoro,” said Folz.
“He was injured for the previous game with an ankle injury that has been persistent. The was never any issue with him.” He added.
Rotten Tomatoes
It is believed that Keagan Buchanan and Ramahlwe Mphahlele were ‘rotten tomatoes’ in the AmaZulu FC camp.
“I have seen them a couple of times where the coach would call them, but they would ignore him and continue with their talks.” A source close to the situation revealed to Phakaaathi.
“They were ganging up on the coach, but I think Keagan and Rama were unlucky that they are the only ones who got the sack.
“I am wondering how the others survived the chop because they were a cabal. But maybe the two were leaders of this cabal,” the source revealed.
