It was another game where Masandawana created a flurry of opportunities in the encounter. Peter Shalulile scored twice for The Brazilians, with Mosa Lebusa also scoring in between the strikes from the Namibian.

Nkanyiso Zungu and Katleho Makateng scored for the visitors.

“Congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns, congratulations for putting us through to the next round.” Mokwena told SuperSport TV.

“Very proud of the players and their effort. Congratulations to Sipho [Mbule, for Man of the Match performance], I thought there were a lot of very good performances today. The score suggests that it was a little bit closer, but very good dominance today, very good team performance.

The head coach went on to bemoan the amount of chances they failed to take in the encounter.

“Yeah, but that’s our story. The entire season, we create a lot of chances. Today I thought we played very, very well.

“Lesedi [Kapinga] was good, [Surprise] Ralani was good, Sipho was good, [Thabiso] Kutumela came on and was good. Mosa [Lebusa] was very good and scored an important goal for us. Rushine [De Reuck] came on and was very good.

“So yes, some very good performances. [Mothobi] Mvala was good, Riva [Rivaldo Coetzee] was good, it was good to see Riva on the pitch. One full year (since he played) actually.

“So, congratulations to the yellow nation, congratulations, now onto the next one.” He concluded.
