SAFA Teams Tight Schedule Fixtures
The South African Football Association (SAFA) national teams will face a hectic period between now and up to the end of the year.Bafana Bafana, Banyana, u23, Women’s u20 and Men’s u17 will play no fewer than 18 matches until December 2015. The first team to play is Banyana Banyana against Ghana at African Games in Brazzaville, Congo on as Thursday, 10 September.
Approaching the end of the month the Women’s u20 National Team, Basetsana, will go to Zambia for the 2nd round u20 FIFA Women’s World Cup Papua New Guinea 2016 qualifier.
Rounding off the month activities will be Amajimbos, the South African Men’s u17 who will lock horns with 2015 u17 World Cup hosts Chile. The clash will take place in Cape Town on Sunday, 27 September.
The month of October will be the busiest one with ten matches to be played.
On the 3rd day of October will see Banyana Banyana going back to action after the All Africa Games. They will play the important first leg of the fourth and final round 2016 Rio Olympic Games qualifier when they take on Equatorial Guinea at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
Five days later after Banyana has played (8 October) Bafana Bafana will be away in Central America to face Costa Rica.
On the 10th Women’s under 23 Basetsana play the return leg against Zambia scheduled for the Makhulong Stadium, followed the Bafana Bafana vs Honduras match on the 13th.
Banyana Banyana will then go to Equatorial Guinea for the second leg of their qualifier on either 17/18 October, with Bafana Bafana coming back in the country to play Angola in a CHAN qualifier on the 17th.
There will then be three back to back matches for the u17 national team at the World Cup in Chile where they will face Costa Rica, Korea DPR and Russia on the 19th, 22nd and 25th.
24th of October the South African Senior Men’s National Team will play the return leg against Angola in Angola, which will be the last match of the month.
Two games will play in November. Bafana Bafana will be back in action on the 13th when they visit Angola for a FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier and two weeks later they will host the same team four days later on the 17th in Durban.
The u23 National Team will then partiicipate in the CAF 8-nations tournament in Senegal in December, with a minimum of 3 matches in the group stages.
