SAFPU Bemoans Royal AM For Giving Players Bonuses on Live TV! The South African Football Players Union were left displeased when this happened.

Royal AM beat Maritzburg United 2-1 in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Derby in the DSTV Premiership this weekend. Following the victory, Andile Mpisane was seen with wads of cash on the pitch.

The players were given their bonuses live on national television.

SAFPU’s Calvin Motloung blasted the Royal AM hierarchy for displaying such behaviour.

“”This should be condemned in the strongest teams,” Motloung told Kick Off Magazine.

“What they did is disrespectful to the players and even to the league. They are also putting the lives of the players at risk by inviting tsotsis to follow the players.

“This is also not helping the league as a global brand. I do not know why they could not wait to pay the players in the dressing room.

“This was done to show off and what is sad is that they still owe some players’ salaries but have the guts to splash money in front of TV cameras.

“Some of the players were paid half of the salaries owed to them.” He spoke.

Royal AM are on a 4-match winning streak in the DSTV Premiership. As a result of their great form, the club finds itself sitting third on the league table.
