Sandile Zungu Happy to Have Captured Romain Folz as AmaZulu Coach! Usuthu unveiled their new man in charge over the weekend.

AmaZulu announced Romain Folz as their new head coach on Saturday afternoon. Club chairman Sandile Zungu is very pleased to have the Frenchman at the helm.

Folz is the third head coach to be hired under the reign of Zungu at Usuthu. Benni McCarthy was appointed in 2020, Brandon Truter followed suit and now he is the third man.

This news came as a shock because many believe that Folz didn’t have what it takes to be the head coach at Marumo Gallants, so it is weird that he is at a bigger club.

“He is known as a great tactician, and he is known as someone who has got a great analytical mind, in terms of analyzing opposition,” Zungu said at the unveiling of Folz.  

“We have to be very sharp in understanding who we’re playing against, but even sharper in preparing ourselves for these great games. So, it was not to be difficult to find someone who is familiar with the local environment, and someone who has the pedigree to coach a team as young and dynamic as ours.

“So, we think we’ve got the right man for the job.”
