Sandile Zungu Purchases Amazulu From Dr Patrick Sokhela! The Kwa-Zulu Natal outfit announced in a presser on Friday afternoon. Former Amazulu President Dr Patrick Sokhela disclosed that he entered into an agreement which sees Zungu Investment Company acquire 100% of Amazulu. This makes Sandile Zungu the new Amazulu President.
When speaking to the press on Friday afternoon, Sokhele described himself as “tired”, after being at the Amazulu helm since 2004.
“I have been the owner and chairman of the AmaZulu for the past 16-years, and the time has come for me to pass the banner to a new owner,” Sokhele said. “I believe the new owner will continue to grow the club in both status and stature as I have endeavored to do.”
“I cannot think of anyone better than Sandile Zungu to step into my shoes and continue the great legacy of this club.”
The very ambitious Zungu claimed that if Amazulu don’t make it into the top 4 next season they would’ve failed on their mandate. An even more ambitious claim is that Amazulu would’ve failed if they don’t win the league title within the next 4 years!
“AmaZulu will no longer be a team that is fighting relegations, starting this year. If we fail to make the top four, we will have failed.”
Ayanda Dlamini and his troops have it all do to now, with new expectations being weighed onto the club. A club that formerly battled relegation year in year out will now be expected to battle with the biggest giants in South African football.
The KZN outfit are one of the oldest clubs in the division and ZICO will look to create success as Sandile Zungu purchases Amazulu from Dr Patrick Sokhela!
