Siyanda Xulu Linked with Move to Struggling PSL Side After Failed Middle East Trials

Former SuperSport United defender Siyanda Xulu is back in South Africa and searching for a new club after his trials in the Middle East failed to yield a deal. The 33-year-old veteran, known for his composure and leadership at the back, has been without a team since parting ways with SuperSport at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Xulu has built a respected career both locally and abroad. He played for Russian side FC Rostov and Israeli outfit Hapoel Tel Aviv, gaining valuable international experience. At home, he represented top Premier Soccer League teams including Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, where his defensive qualities earned him national recognition.
According to insiders, newly promoted PSL club Orbit College FC has emerged as a potential destination for the KwaMashu-born defender. Sources close to the North West-based side revealed that the club has made initial contact with Xulu’s representatives in hopes of adding experience and stability to their defensive line.
“Xulu is back in the country and training on his own. There are a few options in the Betway Premiership. One PSL team has made contact, but nothing has been finalised,” said a source familiar with the discussions.
Orbit College is already strengthening its backline after securing the services of former Kaizer Chiefs full-back Ramahlwe Mphahlele earlier this season. The club, still adjusting to life in the top flight, has struggled to find form and consistency, registering only two wins since their debut in the Betway Premiership.
The timing of Xulu’s return could be ideal for Orbit, who face Richards Bay FC at the Richards Bay Stadium on Friday evening. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.
A move to Orbit College would not only give Xulu a chance to revive his career but also provide the club with much-needed experience as they fight to stay competitive in their maiden PSL season.
