South Africa U-23’s Boosted by Kaizer Chiefs Duo Arrival for Olympics! Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Reeve Frosler have joined up with the junior national team for training.

South Africa begins their Tokyo Olympics against Japan this afternoon (13h00). They have been boosted by the arrival of two Kaizer Chiefs players ahead of their tournament opener.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Reeve Frosler both started on Saturday (17 July 2021) as they lost 3-0 to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League final. They arrived back in the country on Tuesday 20 July.

The duo then travelled to Tokyo, Japan, to meet up with the rest of the squad.

“It’s a great opportunity to be going to the Olympics.” Nkosingiphile Ngcobo told the media before departing for Tokyo.

“Playing in the Champions League final was another great experience, which I am grateful and happy for. Now, I am looking for some game time in Tokyo and to improve my own game,” the excited midfielder said.

“It’s a good feeling and another achievement in my career.” Reeve Frosler said.

“I get to showcase my talents at a high stage at under 23 level and I am very excited about that. We take the experience of the Champions League with us to the Olympics.

“Hopefully, I can get a few games under the belt and showcase my talents to the world,” he added.

The Chiefs dup arrived in camp just in time to prepare for this crunch fixture.

“We have had a very long trip and are still a bit disappointed at the weekend’s results, however as professionals we are now settled in Tokyo and will be 100 percent ready to play if we are selected in the opening match,” Frosler said as they landed in Tokyo.
