Peter Shalulile Move to Esperance Could Pave Way for Elias Mokwana Transfer

If Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile completes a move to Tunisian club Esperance de Tunis, it may open the door for Bafana Bafana forward Elias Mokwana to make a similar switch, sources close to the situation tell the Siya crew.
Esperance have attracted growing interest in Mokwana from clubs in Europe and the Middle East. The 26-year-old winger impressed during his debut season at the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 side after joining from Sekhukhune United. Mokwana played regularly, scored goals, and featured in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States in June.
Reports linking Shalulile to Esperance have intensified recently. A source close to Mokwana revealed to Soccer Laduma that Mokwana’s potential transfer would likely depend on Shalulile’s arrival.
“There is a chance for Elias to move now,” the insider said. “But it is believed this can only happen if Esperance finalise signing Peter Shalulile from Mamelodi Sundowns. Shalulile would be like a direct replacement for the team, so Mokwana’s move would follow once that deal is done.”
However, a second insider cautioned that financial factors remain key. “Even if Shalulile joins, it won’t be simple. They want the highest bidder who meets their expectations. So the move depends on both Shalulile’s arrival and the right price for Mokwana,” they told the Siya crew.
Mokwana has also cemented his place in Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad recently, raising his international profile. His performances in Tunisia and on the international stage have made him an attractive target for clubs seeking a versatile winger.
For now, Mokwana’s future hangs on developments with Shalulile’s possible transfer. Should the Sundowns striker complete the move, it could create a clear pathway for Mokwana to follow.
