Tshepang Moremi Backs Orlando Pirates for League Glory and Historic Trophy Sweep

Orlando Pirates winger Tshepang Moremi has shared his belief that the club can go all the way in the 2025 26 Betway Premiership season as the second round prepares to resume later this month.
The domestic campaign will restart after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, where Bafana Bafana were eliminated at the Round of 16 stage. Moremi was part of the national squad in Morocco and returned to South Africa on Wednesday morning. He is expected to rejoin Pirates training as preparations intensify.
Pirates currently sit at the top of the Betway Premiership table with 28 points from 12 matches. They trail Mamelodi Sundowns by just two points, with the defending champions having played one more game. At the same stage last season, Sundowns had already crossed the 30 point mark, highlighting how competitive the title race has become.
Moremi believes Pirates are well placed to sustain their form until the end of the season. The 25 year old winger says consistency and hard work will be key as the pressure increases in the second round.
He also pointed to the personal motivation within the squad. Moremi was only 11 years old when Pirates last won the league title in the 2011 12 season. For many players in the current team, lifting the league trophy would be a first.
Moremi said the hunger to win is driven by experience. He recalled the feeling of winning the MTN8 and the Carling Knockout, describing those moments as unmatched. He stressed that trophies are earned through effort and discipline, not luck.
According to the winger, the second half of the season often defines a team’s true direction. He expressed full confidence in the Pirates squad and believes they have the mentality to stay at the top despite the challenges ahead.
Moremi went further by suggesting that Pirates can aim for a clean sweep of domestic honours. With the league, Nedbank Cup, MTN8 and Carling Knockout all still within reach, he feels this season could be special for the club.
Orlando Pirates will look to continue their strong momentum when they return to league action against Sekhukhune United on January 24. For Moremi and his teammates, the focus is clear. Push harder, stay consistent, and turn belief into silverware.
