Watch! Sibusiso Vilakazi Shows Us What He Does For Extra Training

The start of the DStv Premiership 2022/23 season is around the corner and teams have already started the pre-season as they prepare. Many players were enjoying themselves out on holidays during the off-season, now it’s time to return on the field and they can’t go back there unfit.

Sibusiso Vilakazi of Mamelodi Sundowns won a treble along with his teammates last season but wasn’t fully hands-on in all trophies they lifted. He struggled with injuries, thus it was difficult for him to get his name back into the regular starting line-up. But now ‘Vila’ as he’s well-known, seems to be putting maximum effort to get back to the old himself.

VILAKAZI’S FUTURE AT SUNDOWNS

Despite the rumours suggesting that Vilakazi would be leaving the Pretoria giants this transfer window, when he spoke to Soccer Laduma, his response hinted that he would stay with Masandawana.

“Right now, it’s about fixing my body and preparing for the upcoming season. Personally, I am not going to be taking any vacation. There’s nothing to celebrate. I celebrated with the team. So, from my side, it’s about getting back to work as much as I can, to keep myself in a better shape, so that when the season starts and once everything is concluded in terms of the team taking a decision, then I am ready,” Vilakazi told the Soccer Laduma’s Siya crew.

“The team has a two-year option at the moment. They are still talking about that and what needs to happen. That I can’t control. They are in control of that. I will be working out. No holiday for me.”

Asked about the links to Kaizer Chiefs, the 32-year-old said; “Honestly, I have not had talks with anybody because they also don’t know what’s happening. As soon as Sundowns release a statement, you can follow up with those questions.”
