The visitors took the lead after Lee Langeveldt saw an Aubrey Modiba shot cannon onto the post and ricochet into the net from his heels. Iqraam Rayners scored a brace in the second half to turn the tie around.

The striker capitalised from defensive errors from Teboho Mokoena and Mothobi Mvala.

“Let’s just congratulate Stellenbosch and wish them all the best for the rest of the cup. Today we didn’t deserve to win, so that’s competitive sports.” Mokwena told SuperSport TV.

“So, when someone is better than you, you put your hand up and congratulate them and wish them all the best.

“They were not that much better [than us], but they were better.

“We lost a lot of the duels today, from the first minute we lost a lot of the duels. But ok, we go.

“As I said, congratulations to Stellenbosch and we wish them all the best.

“We have to find them [solutions], some way, somehow. We’ll watch the game, spend again sleepless nights, for sure.

“You can never doubt that we’ll work very, very hard to find and solve this thing. But its all ok, congratulations to the opposition.

“Congratulations to Stevie Barker and his technical team, the players. As I said, humble and gracious also in moments where we are defeated, so, we wish them the best.” The head coach concluded.
