Liverpool and Crystal Palace are the 5 teams to have won their opening two fixtures. While at the bottom of the table Fulham, West Ham, West Brom and Southampton have lost both their opening matches.

Chelsea and Liverpool was the standout fixture of the weekend. Chelsea still couldn’t feature much of their new players due to injuries. Liverpool had Thiago Alcantara on the bench while Diogo Jota hadn’t been registered for the game. A Sadio Mane brace helped Liverpool to a 2-0 win over 10 man Chelsea. Andres Christensen was sent off for a cynical foul on Sadio Mane.

Everton continued their great start to the season as after a convincing 5-2 win over 10-man West Bromwich Albion. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the first hattrick of his career. Goals from James Rodrigues and Michael Keane helped Everton to their second win of the season. Optimism is rife at Goodison Park.

Manchester United took on Crystal Palace in their first game of the season. A Wilfried Zaha brace helped trounce United 3-1 at Old Trafford. This was their first opening day home defeat since 2014 when Louis Van Gaal took over. The Red Devils looked lethargic and out of shape. Roy Hodgson’s team comfortably denounced United.

At the bottom of the table West Ham conceded an 85th minute winner from Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. The Hammers sit with 0 points. Fulham lost a thrilling 4-3 encounter to Leeds United at Elland Road. This is the second game Bielsa’s team has participated in a 7-goal match.
