Willard Katsande Happy to Regain Full Match Fitness!
Willard Katsande Happy to Regain Full Match Fitness! The Zimbabwean international has missed many matches this season due to injuries.
He made his return this February after missing all of February. Katsande created an assist against Orlando Pirates when he returned to the football pitch.
Today Kaizer Chiefs take on SuperSport United in the DSTV Premiership. Katsande is happy to be back in the squad for that game.
“What I am doing at the moment is working hard every day, trying to stay fit and focused,” he tells the official club website.
“What is most important when not playing is supporting the guys who are on the pitch, keep myself fit and motivated.” Katsande adds on.
The midfielder has a bittersweet match against AmaZulu as he made his second successive appearance of the bench. But Kaizer Chiefs lost at home to Usuthu.
“Coming on against AmaZulu was good for me because I really wanted the minutes in my legs to reach match fitness, to help the team turn the corner and achieve our objectives
“Losing three games in a row is not a nice thing especially when you are at Kaizer Chiefs. We need to work on changing our fortunes as a matter of urgency.
“We are not known for losing three games in a row,” he admits,
“it is a tough pill to swallow. At the end of the day, we can change things tomorrow by preparing adequately for the game against SuperSport.
“We are looking forward to turning the corner.” Katsande added.
He is fully aware of the challenge they face against SuperSport United today. Matsatsantsa are currently second on the PSL table.
“SuperSport are tough opponents,” he says.
“It’s all about who wants it more. We know it’s going to be a tough one. We are going to apply ourselves and put into effect our game plan.
“The good thing is that we are at home. We need to get the victory because it is our last game before we kickstart the Group Stage of the Champions League.”
“We go into the game with positive vibes and a positive mindset. But we have to face it like professionals, and we have to defend our badge. Importantly, we play with the objective of winning three points.
“We need to keep focus, pay attention and not lose focus at any stage of the game. We must focus for 90 minutes because games are decided in critical phases.”
