Kaizer Chiefs are in trouble for fielding players they should not have in the DSTV Premiership. PSL Prosecutor Zola Majavu confirms that they will appear before a hearing on the 13th of May 2022.

Amakhosi fielded Aden McCarthy and Mduduzi Shabalala against Sekhukhune United in the DSTV Premiership in December 2021. The two players are registered to play in the DSTV Diski Challenge, but they played in the Premier Soccer League.

Thus, Kaizer Chiefs could forfeit the 2-0 win and lose 3-0, which would see Sekhukhune United get all three points.

“I confirm that earlier today [Monday], Kaizer Chiefs appeared before the PSL DC to answer to charges of fielding two ineligible players who were originally registered for the DStv Diski Challenge. However, they were used in a fixture between Chiefs and Sekhukhune United in the DSTV Premiership” Majavu told reporters yesterday.

“The case has been postponed to 13 May 2022, for final arguments and on that day, under the direction of the panel, the matter must be finalised. What will then be outstanding will be a judgment, which will be reserved, mindful of the fact that the season is drawing to an end.” He concluded.

The Glamour Boys are still in hot water for fixtures they abandoned against Golden Arrows and Cape Town City. This matter is yet to be concluded and is likely to be finalised in the boardroom.

The month of May will also shape the season of Amakhosi, pending these two judgements. Zola Majavu Confirms Kaizer Chiefs Will Appear Before DC For Fielding Ineligible Players!
