Bafana Bafana internationals Bongani Zungu and Tokelo Rantie scored for their respective teams over the weekend. Zungu Scored for Vitoria Guimaraes but could not help his side clinch the Portuguese cup against Benfica.
With 12 minutes to go in the cup final the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder found the back of the net with a header from a corner. Despite the cup disappointment, the goal caps off a great second half of the season for the player who was just recently recalled to the Bafana Bafana squad.
Another Bafana Bafana player who got recalled Tokelo Rantie also found the back of the net for his Turkish side Genclerbirligi as they won 2-1 against Bursaspor. Rantie netted the opening goal for his side, getting his sixth goal of the season.
It seems as if he is hitting form at the right time for coach Stuart Baxter, who hopes he can score against Nigeria on 10 June 2017. Rantie might make his first appearance for Bafana since the 1-1 draw against Mauritania in September 2016.
