Chelsea FC Pay Tribute to Former Superstar Eden Hazard! This follows the news that the player hung up his boots today.

Eden Hazard earlier announced that he has retired from professional football. Former club Chelsea FC have remembered the winger, appreciating his time at the club.

It is without a doubt that the best period in the career of Hazard was when he represented Chelsea between 2012 and 2015. During this period, he became one of the best players in the world.

“Eden Hazard lays claim to being the most skilful footballer to have ever played for Chelsea,” the club stated on their website.

“It was the summer of 2012 when Hazard, the most coveted young player in the world, announced on Twitter he would be leaving his boyhood club Lille to sign for the Champions League winners. He left seven years later with the status of one of the all-time Chelsea greats, having helped the team win the Premier League on two occasions, the Europa League twice and the FA Cup and League Cup once. He was voted Chelsea Player of the Year on a record four occasions, and also received regular acclaim from the wider footballing community. 

“He was often picked out by pundits as the best player in the best league in the world. A shining star throughout the many successes the team achieved during his time at the Bridge, Hazard played 352 games for the Blues and scored 110 goals. 

“It is not only the raft of collective and individual honours the Belgian racked up that will live long in the memory; his skill, speed and smile will never be forgotten. A fast, strong and tricky forward player, Hazard was most often deployed in a wide-left attacking position. 

“He also comfortably led the line when asked to do so. Remarkably robust, he endured foul after foul, match after match, season after season, yet his injury record was superb. 

“Hazard was our best player in the 2015 and 2017 title-winning seasons, scored the winner in the 2018 FA Cup final, and netted a brace the following year in what proved to be his final game for the club, the dismantling of Arsenal in the Europa League final.” The club praised.
