Luc Eymael Finally Departs South Africa After Chippa United Exit

Former Chippa United coach Luc Eymael has finally left South Africa after his attempts to exit the country were delayed by paperwork issues. The Belgian coach was stranded following a brief and turbulent spell at the Gqeberha-based club.
Eymael joined Chippa United at the end of August but was dismissed by October, becoming one of the many coaches affected by the club’s high turnover under Siviwe Mpengesi’s leadership. During his short tenure, Eymael guided the team to five points in six league matches. He noted that the team has only managed two points since his departure.
Speaking from OR Tambo International Airport, Eymael confirmed he was booking a flight to Brussels. He expressed relief at finally being able to leave the country and confirmed that he had received half of his settlement from Chippa, with the remaining portion expected by month-end under their mutual agreement.
Eymael reflected on his time in South African football, noting that Chippa marked his fifth club in the country. His previous appointments included Polokwane City, Bloemfontein Celtic, Free State Stars, and Black Leopards. He said he continues to follow the league closely, scouting and analyzing teams even before joining Chippa.
The outspoken coach has not yet revealed his next destination. He remains focused on moving past the disappointment of his brief stint with the Chilli Boys and looking forward to future opportunities in football management.
