AmaZulu Complete the Signing of Mswati Mavuso! Usuthu have added a young midfielder to the ranks.
AmaZulu FC have signed defensive midfielder Mswati Mavuso on a free transfer. The 22-year-old will represent his new team for the foreseeable future.
The club lost their captain and mainstay defensive midfielder Makheleni Makhaula to Orlando Pirates in the January transfer window. They have opted to replace the veteran with younger, fresher legs.
“We’re happy to have him, he’s going to bring more options for us in the midfield.” Romain Folz told the club media.
“He’s a young player, who’s good technically and has an impact physically. I think he’s going to gel well with the team,”
Even though Makhaula’s departure has left a void in the team, Mavuso will still have to compete with the likes of Abbubaker Mobara, Larry Byalwa, Ethan Brooks, Keagan Buchanan and George Maluleka in that midfield.
“I am happy to join AmaZulu FC.” Mavuso spoke.
“I would like to thank management for the chance to join the club. AmaZulu is a team with a lot of ambition.
“I am quite happy to be here.
“I would like to thank the coaches and the gents (teammates) for welcoming me well. I think so far so good.
“I am enjoying being here.”
The youngster compared his playing style to former Chelsea and Ghana stalwart Michael Essien.
“I like to hold the ball and score goals from inside the box, like Essien. I am looking forward to contributing to the team.
“I would just like to urge the supporters to continue coming to the stadium to support us. We will also try our best to get them the results,” he concluded.
