Tottenham Hotspurs and Antonio Conte have parted ways after a tipsy turbid season. The club is yet to announce who will success him as the head coach.
The Italian has been on the verge of the sacking for the majority of the season. Despite securing UEFA Champions League qualification in his first full season, he has been scrutinised for his defensive style of play.
Spurs were eliminated by AC Milan in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League this season and currently occupy the fourth spot on the Premier League table. They have 10 matches left to try to secure their position for next year’s tournament.
“We can announce that Head Coach Antonio Conte has left the Club by mutual agreement.” The club announced last night.
“We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio’s first season at the Club. We thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future.
“Cristian Stellini will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as Assistant Head Coach.” The statement reads.
