Bruce Bvuma Will Be Grateful Should He Start in The CAF Champions League Final! The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper has been instrumental in the African trek.
Bruce Bvuma has produced some immense performances for Kaizer Chiefs in the Champions League. He hasn’t been alone though as both Daniel Akpeyi and Itumeleng Khune have produced stellar performances.
Bvuma won the Man of the Match award in Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 semi-final win over Wydad Casablanca in the first leg. He could not play in the second leg as he was in close contact with someone who tested positive for covid-19.
Daniel Akpeyi deputised for him and also produced a fabulous performance. Arthur Zwane and Stuart Baxter will have a tough time selecting the starting goalkeeper in the final itself.
“I am happy to have gotten the opportunity to play for Kaizer Chiefs and be able to be part of the team to play against Al Ahly in the final. As we all know, the Champions League is a big competition here in Africa,” Bvuma said.
“Being here is a career up-lifter and this is what I want after all because every player wants to grow in their career. In being in this final, my CV will also improve.
“For a team like Chiefs this is a competition that we should be playing every year. Our hope is to win the trophy.
“We know what we are up against in playing against Al Ahly because they are a team that dominates in the Champions League.
“In meeting, we are aware that they are one of the best and in being one of the best we have to perform against them in the final. It is important that we raise our game and perform playing against the defending champions.
“To our fans, we promise that we will come back with the star.” Bvuma lamented.
