Cedric Kaze Praises Mduduzi Shabalala After Stellar Display Against Orbit College

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze hailed young attacker Mduduzi Shabalala after his match-winning performance against Orbit College on Tuesday night. The 20-year-old forward inspired Amakhosi to a 4-0 victory that pushed the team to second place on the log and secured consecutive league wins.

Shabalala’s sharp finishing and energy in attack earned him the Man of the Match award, with Kaze acknowledging both his impact and potential for growth.

“Yes, it’s something…you know he is younger and he has to learn because he still has a very long way to develop,” Kaze told SuperSport TV. “We know that he could do more than what he is showing. The good thing with him, he is a very humble kid and willing to learn as well.”

The match marked a key turning point for Chiefs, who had been creating chances without finding the back of the net in recent weeks. Against Orbit College, their efficiency improved dramatically. “We have been having very good performances without converting the chances that we got,” Kaze said. “It was very important to start very well and we did, with a very good mentality. I said two weeks ago that if the performances are consistent, the goals will come, and we’re glad we scored four today and got the three points.”

Kaze also credited the return of key players and the integration of new signings for helping raise the team’s performance level. Thabiso Monyane’s return from injury added stability, while new signing Asanele Velebayi showed promise during his debut run.

“It was very important even in the period of doubt to keep showing the players the positive moments,” Kaze explained. “We were getting into the box, the last passes were there. It was just a matter of being clinical and composed in front of goal. The players coming back from injury also helped to bring the level up.”

The dominant victory has renewed optimism within the Chiefs camp as they push to maintain consistency in their league campaign. For Shabalala, whose brace underlined his growing influence, the message from Kaze is clear: keep learning, keep working, and keep delivering. With Amakhosi finding form and confidence, fans will hope this win signals the start of a sustained run toward the top of the table.
