Ghampani Lungu scored the only goal of the game in the first half, pouncing on an error from Brandon Petersen. Amakhosi fiercely attacked their opponents towards the end of the game, with no luck though.
“Well, you expect that, what do you expect? They are 1-0 down, they are going to throw the kitchen sink at you, balls across the face of the goal and we could have been out of sight, but we weren’t.” Hunt told SuperSport TV after the game.
“But anyway, we deserved it, I thought we were great, especially first half. My goodness, we were really good, and we sat off in the second half.
“But it’s all about controlling our distances, which we didn’t do well, but its inevitable. You’re sitting off and you’re going to go deeper and deeper, [but] as I say, magnificent, the players.”
Matsatsantsa are still in the running to finish in a CAF Champions League position, after Orlando Pirates drew 1-1 at home to Sekhukhune United.
“Well, there you go. Listen, nobody deserves anything in life.
“But if you work hard, we’ll get our dues. Hopefully if it’s not next week [then] next year, maybe.
“But as I said, with this group of players, we patched the team together, magnificent. Credit to the board, to everybody and [I’m] really proud.” He added.
