Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was the hero as he saved to penalties for Italy. The match ended 1-1 after normal time and extra time.
Luke Shaw gave England an early lead in the first half. The bombarding left back scored in less than two minutes for his side.
The Italians were resolute and not shook by the concession of such an early goal in the final. Veteran defender Leonardo Bonucci equalised for Italy is scrappy fashion from a corner in the second half.
