Juventus Make It to UEFA Europa League Semi-Finals! The Bianconeri got the better of their Portuguese opponents.

Juventus drew 1-1 away to Sporting CP in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night. They are now into the last four of the tournament.

The Italians bagged a late 1-0 win in the first leg last week at home. This gave them the slenderest advantage heading into the second leg on Thursday night.

Adrien Rabiot gave Juventus the lead early on in Portugal, pouncing onto a rebound. Englishman Marcus Edwards levelled the scores on the night from the penalty spot.

The match ended 1-all, which was enough to send Juventus into the semi-finals of European football for the first time since 2017.

“It was a good day as we reached the semi-finals.” Head coach Massimiliano Allegri told UEFA after the encounter.

“We suffered. We did good things at the beginning of the second half, but we have to do better when it comes to our chances.

“We knew it would be difficult, but we are bringing home a good result.” The Italian spoke.

Sporting displayed electric performances in their European campaign, from the UEFA Champions League before dropping into the UEFA Europa League.

“We leave the competition with our heads held high and with pride for our performance against top teams like Arsenal and Juventus, but not for the final outcome. We managed to play eye-to-eye with them and leave a good impression.” Defender Ricardo Esgaio elaborated.
