Kaizer Chiefs Beat Orlando Pirates to Claim Soweto Derby Victory

Kaizer Chiefs earned a 2-0 win over Orlando Pirates in the DStv Diski Challenge at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday. The result gave Chiefs the upper hand in the Soweto Derby and tightened the race at the top. Pirates lost the chance to extend their lead on the table. Chiefs struck through Kamogelo Malefo in the first half and Naledi Hlongwane after the break. The win marked a second straight victory for Chiefs. Richards Bay FC 1-2 Sekhukhune United

Sekhukhune United ended a six match winless run with a 2-1 win over Richards Bay FC. Babina Noko scored twice before halftime through Mampuru Malekgene and Karabo Tlaka. Stellenbosch FC 1-3 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns held second place after a 3-1 win over Stellenbosch FC. Siyabonga Mabena opened the scoring minutes into the match. Chuene Moabelo added the second early in the second half. Stellenbosch reduced the gap through Tauric Gamildien who came off the bench and brought urgency to the attack. Bennet Mokoena sealed the result with a composed finish. Sundowns controlled the match and created high quality chances that kept Stellenbosch under pressure.

Golden Arrows 1-1 AmaZulu

Golden Arrows and AmaZulu drew 1-1 in a balanced provincial clash. AmaZulu scored first through Msindisi Ndlovu after a sharp break. Arrows equalised before halftime with a penalty converted by Mlondi Mbanjwa. Both teams tightened their structure in the second half and neither side created a clear opening to swing the match.

Marumo Gallants FC 1-2 Siwelele FC

Siwelele FC returned to winning form after beating Marumo Gallants FC 2-1. The first half produced no goals as both sides struggled to find space. Siwelele stepped up after the break and took the lead through Thabang Makubo. Gallants responded soon after with a well taken goal. Thabang Mahlangu scored the winner late in the half. Siwelele showed improved link up play and used simple, direct forward passes to unlock the Gallants defence.

Durban City 1-1 Chippa United

Durban City drew again after a 1-1 result against Chippa United at Chatsworth Stadium. Both teams scored before halftime. The match stayed tight with few clear chances after the interval. The shared points kept Durban City in a pattern of stalemates that has slowed their climb up the table.

TS Galaxy 2-0 Orbit College

TS Galaxy moved into the top eight with a 2-0 win over Orbit College. Corneille Nguessan broke the deadlock before halftime. He doubled the lead early in the second half. Orbit College struggled with defensive organisation and offered little threat going forward. TS Galaxy controlled possession with simple passing and quick transitions that opened space in the final third.
