Kaizer Chiefs Monitor Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo As Dylan Kerr Weighs In

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be tracking Marumo Gallants midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo as interest grows around his recent form. His former coach, Dylan Kerr, has shared a clear view on whether the 30 year old still has the qualities needed to succeed at Amakhosi. His comments arrive at a time when Gauteng clubs are monitoring the player after a strong run of performances in the Carling Knockout.

Ndlondlo returned to Marumo Gallants on a free transfer after Orlando Pirates chose not to renew his contract at the end of last season. His influence at Siwelele Sa Marumo has grown quickly. He scored three goals in the Carling Knockout and helped drive Alexandre Lafitte’s side to the final. His direct play, close control and sharp decision making made him one of the most impactful players in the competition.

Kerr worked with Ndlondlo during an earlier spell at Gallants. He said he was surprised that Chiefs did not move for him when he became a free agent. Kerr pointed to his versatility and his ability to fit into different systems. He said the midfielder delivered strong performances at Pirates and understood the demands of a large club. Kerr argued that Chiefs missed a cost effective opportunity because they now face the possibility of paying a transfer fee if their interest becomes formal.

He linked the situation to the case of Sibongiseni Mthethwa who joined Chiefs from Stellenbosch after establishing himself at Black Leopards. Kerr said Chiefs could have secured Mthethwa earlier and at a lower cost. He believes the same applies to Ndlondlo because his contract situation at Pirates was public and created a chance for early action.

Kerr described Ndlondlo as a player who lifts the tempo of a match. He said the midfielder brings skill, intelligence and energy to the field. Kerr added that players like Ndlondlo and Monde Mphambaniso were central to his team structure in the past. They created movement, quick combinations and attacking opportunities that helped the rest of the team perform.

Kerr highlighted that Chiefs already have a solid number six in Mthethwa. He believes Ndlondlo would operate well ahead of him and bring balance to the midfield. He stressed that the team needs a player who can create and influence attacking phases. In his view, Ndlondlo matches that profile because he offers invention and makes the team more unpredictable.

Interest in Ndlondlo continues to rise as Gallants benefit from his experience and competitive edge. His performances in recent months showed clear consistency and strong match impact. Chiefs and other Gauteng clubs are expected to keep monitoring his progress as the season continues.
