“An honour to have been with you King. We stand side by side for any need the Zulu nation and it’s people require. Kaizer Motaung Foundation was humbled to be able to sit and talk of ways to begin helping those affected in Durban,” Motaung wrote on Instagram.

Siphiwe Tshabala, AmaZulu and MaMkhize also assisted

Apart from Motaung, Siphiwe Tshabalala and his foundation came out to assist with food parcels and blankets to the families that were affected by the floods just after the occurrence.

Alongside him was his partner in crime in football, Reneilwe Letsholonyane who came to support the programme. Verulam and Umlazi were among the places they visited. In Umlazi’s Isithokozi primary, they assisted with school shoes for the learners.

Before Shabba’s foundation contribution, we saw AmaZulu FC opening their hearts in helping those that were struck hard by the natural disaster. Partnering with Spar and Mitsubishi SA, they visited Ntuzuma, KwaMashu, Inanda and Umzinyathi communities.

While, the Royal AM president Shawn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize didn’t want to be left behind as she promised to build 20 houses for those families that were going to be identified by the municipality.

“I am a mother and a family person. More importantly, I am from KwaZulu-Natal and these are my people. I know they are going through a hard time, not having a roof over their heads and not knowing where to go next when they leave the halls,” she told City Press.

“All I want to do is lend a helping hand and make a difference where I can. It’s not about me, but about those destitute families. I don’t want to hog the limelight for this.”

“I don’t know who is going to benefit because it is not my call. I have asked the municipality to identify about 20 families from the affected communities,” she added.
