Mamelodi Sundowns Confirm Signing of Colombian Attacker Brayan Lèon

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of Colombian forward Brayan Lèon, following closely on the heels of Monnapule Saleng’s arrival, signalling their intent to mount a serious title defence in the Betway Premiership. The 25-year-old attacker officially joined Sundowns on Monday morning, with the club announcing the move across their social media platforms.
Lèon arrives from Independiente Medellín, where he made a major impact, registering 33 goals and 17 assists during his time at the club. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Colombian has signed a three-year contract with Sundowns, including an option to extend for an additional year.
The attacker expressed his gratitude to his former club on Instagram. “Huge thanks to Independiente Medellín for opening the doors to this beautiful institution and helping me grow on this path,” Lèon wrote. “To all those good people I met here, I am grateful for the good and not so good that happened. Wish them the best always.”
Lèon’s unveiling comes just over 48 hours after Sundowns confirmed the high-profile signing of Monnapule Saleng from Orlando Pirates. These acquisitions reflect Sundowns’ ambition to reclaim their position at the top of the table after relinquishing their spot in the early stages of the season.
Currently, Sundowns sit second in the Betway Premiership with seven wins from 12 matches, trailing Orlando Pirates, who lead the standings with seven wins from 12 matches. The Brazilians are also expected to announce the signing of Bafana Bafana defender Khulumani Ndamani from TS Galaxy, further strengthening their squad in defence.
With Lèon and Saleng now part of the squad, Sundowns are signaling their determination to challenge for the league title and reinforce their reputation as one of South Africa’s most dominant clubs. Their new arrivals add depth, attacking quality, and versatility ahead of the crucial second half of the 2025/26 season.
