Manchester United defeated Real Betis 4-1 in the UEFA Europa League last night. They now carry a huge advantage going into the second leg of the tie.

The Reds went into the match bruised after suffering a humiliating 7-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday night. They avenged that defeat in fine fashion, with Marcus Rashford opening the scoring.
Betis equalised thanks to a well taken effort from Ayoze Perez. Antony gave United the lead once more in the second half, before further goals from Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst sealed the win for the hosts.
“I’m very pleased with the performance.” Head coach Erik Ten Haag told UEFA.
“We played very well in and out of possession. We had a good press, were compact pressing forward and made it difficult for the opponent to create.
“There was a lot of movement, and also the character of the team bouncing back after they made it 1-1.” He stated.
“We always try to start quick, and a goal always helps that.” Marcus Rashford added.
“They defended the box well in the first half, but in the second it opened up more – as to be expected with the game at 1-1. We started well in both halves.
“It is important to try and score the goals and that is the difference.”
