Mohau Nkota Returns to South Africa, Reconnects with Orlando Pirates and Mfundo Vilakazi

Bafana Bafana winger Mohau Nkota has returned to South Africa following his first pre-season with Saudi club Al-Ettifaq.
During his visit home, Nkota met with his management team at P Management to pick up fresh Nike Mercurial boots. He aims to hit the ground running as the Saudi Pro League season approaches.
Nkota also reconnected with his former club Orlando Pirates by attending their opening Betway Premiership match against Sekhukhune United at Orlando Stadium. Pirates secured a narrow 1-0 victory in that game.
Beyond greeting fans and soaking in the atmosphere, Nkota linked up with Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi. The pair shared a moment reflecting their friendship despite representing rival clubs.
In a heartfelt interview on Metro FM’s Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube, Nkota expressed deep appreciation for his time at Pirates. He thanked club chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza, his former teammates, coaches, and the fans for their unwavering support.
Nkota is now focused on the upcoming Saudi Pro League season, which will start on 21 September 2025 with Al-Ettifaq facing Al-Batin. His club recently wrapped up pre-season in Spain with a 1-1 draw against Cadiz.
The winger looks ready to build on his early experiences abroad while maintaining strong ties to his South African football roots.
